Sennheiser HD 490 Pro Replacement Cables / Custom Cables

Sennheiser has released their HD 490 Pro headphones, which utilize a single-entry female 4-pin mini-XLR headphone cable that can plug into either headphone cup and still deliver balanced stereo audio.

The mini-XLR going to the headphone utilizes a standard pinout, see the diagram below:

BALANCED?

The HD 490 pro headphones are balanced capable, so there will be no issues if you'd like to use these headphones on common balanced output connections such as full size 4-pin XLR and 4.4mm outputs.

What cables should I get?

As far as our products at Hart Audio go, you can use any of our "HC-8" Cable models with the HD 490 Pro headphones. Just choose the appropriate interconnects or terminations for the source / output connections you'll be plugging into.
